The Cabildo de La Gomera distributed nearly 350,000 euros between farmers, ranchers and fishermen from the island, as reported by the Corporation island. The Commission of Government approved and the list of beneficiaries and soon will begin to pay the subsidies which funds the promotion, enhancement of agricultural infrastructure and equipment.
"These payments are an added incentive with that from the first institution gomera want to support activities of the primary sector," explains the note. It spells further that the Cabildo benefits to fishermen who have invested in acquiring vessels, aircraft engines or fishing; funded maintenance and repair of vessels, and even paid fees for Social Security.
Subsidies for farmers and ranchers cover the purchase or repair of cultivators, small tractors and machinery, purchase of seeds for planting potatoes, cattle importation and purchase of food and other feed for livestock. In addition, provision is made for the improvement and maintenance of facilities associations, guilds, communities irrigators, transformation of agrarian societies and cooperatives.
The President of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, stressed the need to encourage the continuation of the work of the traditional economy, "which constitute the main ally of tourism, which like the rest of the archipelago, is our main economic engine, and are league our landscape more typical.
Organic farming
