The Sector Barbastro is a pioneer in the application of new technologies in healthcare, stressing
among its telemedicine project, which aims to bring assistance to the population dispersed. Thus,
in June the town oscense will host a European Union forum on Telemedicine and their applications
in health practice. Specifically, the meeting will be held at the Congress and Exhibition Centre
For some years now, in Barbastro projects are being developed in collaboration with other
European and national institutions. Through the European Commission is participating in the pilot
project Optimum Health, which are also involved teams Danes and Italians. This is based on the
videoconference, is currently deployed throughout Aragon in its third phase.
In addition, teams of Barbastro are developing three other European projects-Eurogene, Dreaming
and SUP (Safety and Emergency Services in the Pyrenees) - joined by two other nationals linked to
the Ministry of Industry (Realth and Ispamat).
Delegations of the partners of the four European projects will meet in June in Barbastro. They
will be joined by members of two other projects, including Europeans, Better Breathing and Mpower
to encourage the sharing of knowledge among all and identify potential synergies to work
together.
During the forum, there will be informational presentations, workshops and hands-on workshops and
technology, with the main objective of creating awareness of the various telemedicine projects

As to Eurogene, this project aims to create an international platform of preventive care by

On the other hand, Barbastro is developing two projects of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and
Trade. This is the Realth (Remote Health), which works to achieve greater prosperity by improving
health services and optimizing the management of health care resources, and ISPAMAT, where the
sector Barbastro collaborating to validate a pilot new services to citizens through DTT in Fraga.
